Novel Recommendations for GATE and Advanced Readers

For the advanced reader, there is a challenge of finding appropriate material to read at an advanced level. What can be harder is finding the time to preview everything before your child reads it. If your student loves non-fiction, it can be easier to get higher level text. Fiction is a little harder. If you have a book or a series that YOU have personally read that you can recommend, please post it here. Be sure to include what level you think the book is at (ie-7th grade level text that my 3rd grade daughter enjoyed) and a brief summary. Together we can lighten the load. :)

LC Tips for Other LCs

Hands down, learning coaches win the "who is most experienced" contest! Please share what you are doing that makes COVA-schooling successful in your home. Share schooling tips, family tips, home tips... anything you think others would benefit from knowing about.

On this Canadian site I most liked the 5th and 6th grade math. There are a lot of good lessons with animation and pracitce built in like a game. Enjoy!
